Master your ECG skills...

Mark has over 30 years of experience in acute patient care both in a hospital setting and in the pre-hospital environment. He is currently a Consultant Paramedic and undertakes regular clinical shifts.

He holds an MSc in Cardiology.

Mark's main area of expertise is that of pre hospital acute cardiac care and he has been instrumental in developing a number of cardiac care strategies which have been acknowledged as an example of excellence both nationally and internationally. He is regarded as an excellent lecturer and practitioner in his field and has presented at numerous national and international meetings

Driven by the desire to deliver expert patient care Mark has been involved in a number of pre hospital cardiac research trials

Mark developed the original concept of a formal module on Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) and the Advanced 12 Lead ECG which he has been teaching for a number of years.

The Boot Camp concept is another original concept from Mark Whitbread.

Mark Whitbread

Whitbread's Advanced ECG Boot Camp is a unique, highly interactive two day course covering all aspects of the 'Emergency ECG'.

The Boot Camp is ideally suited for Paramedics and 3rd Year University students.

The two day course is structured to be both interactive and theoretical  in format and covers a number of different areas.

The course is delivered face to face in small groups by Mark Whitbread and covers the points opposite:

Systematic approach to the 12 Lead ECG

The importance of patient history and examination

The 12 Lead ECG in Acute Coronary Syndromes

STEMI mimics

The important Tachycardia's/Bradycardia’s

The key essentials of  patient management

and much more....

Included on the 2 day Boot Camp course is a set of learning tools for each attendee.

2 Day Advanced ECG Boot Camp

1 Day Lead II Rhythm workshop

An interactive enjoyable face to face workshop where the student will develop a systematic approach to analysing the ECG rhythm and  explore number of different ECG rhythms as seen in lead II of the ECG.

1/2 Day ECG workshop - The ECG in ACS

This 1/2 day workshop focus on all aspects of the 12 Lead ECG in patients presenting with Acute Coronary Syndromes including patient history and immediate management.

I have worked alongside Mark on a number of occasions. Both clinically and managerially. His knowledge, understanding and most importantly his application of cardiac care is second to none.

I was lucky enough to attend a lecture by Mark Whitbread some years ago. Learned tonnes - 100% worth following now he's on Twitter!

Also, unlike other 'n depth' ECG courses, this boot camp includes clinical pearls on actually managing these Pt's ... again, perfect for PHC staff who need to recognise disease processes and then *act on* those findings! Would recommend to any ambulance staff

I've wanted to do this course for 3yrs (IRRC it's Paramedic only in LAS). So glad to have finally got the chance to attend - Mark truly understands our working environment, and his systematic and pragmatic approach is perfect for PHC staff.
